Overview
In some situations, you may need to print documents securely to ensure they aren't picked up by someone else before you arrive. Private Printing is a simple way to do this.
This guide will show you how to use Private Print on Toshiba Multifunction Printers. It allows you to send a print job to the printer but hold it until you manually release it once you arrive.
Instructions
We'll start with how to initiate Private Print from your computer, then walk through the steps to release the job at the printer.
At your computer:
- Open the file to be printed (Word document, Excel Spreadsheet, etc.)
- Click on File, and then Print. Ensure that the correct printer is selected
- Click on Printer Properties
- In the 'basic' tab, change the Print Job by selecting the drop down and choosing 'Private Print'

- Click the ellipsis to the right of 'Private Print'. Enter a desired print password of your choosing (you will enter this when you go to the printer) and click on OK

- Click OK in Printer Properties, and then press Print when ready. This will send the print job to the printer, where it will stay on hold until you arrive
Now you will head to the printer itself.
Once you arrive at the printer:
- On the printer's control panel, press the Print icon.

- Change the Job Type to 'Private', and then select your username. Press OK.

- Enter the password of the print job you sent earlier (NOT for your career account) and then press OK.

- Select the documents that you want to print, and then press Print.

You are all done! You can take your securely printed paper from the tray.
