Overview
Brightspace is a global system, and the pre-designated time zone for your account may not correspond to your actual time zone. The default for all users is Eastern time. You may also want to change your time zone if you are traveling out of the area, so your due dates and times correspond to the new time zone.
Instructions
1. Login to Brightspace using your Purdue credentials. On the homepage, click your name in the top right corner of the screen.
2. A dropdown menu appears. Select "Account Settings."
3. This will take you to a page with various options for customizing your account. Scroll down until you find the "Time Zone" section.
4. Here you will see fields for selecting your continent and time zone. Check if the continent and time zone selected are correct. If not, change your time zone by clicking the drop-down arrow to the right of the time zone field.
5. This reveals a list of time zones for the continent selected. Choose the time zone that corresponds to your area. (NWI residents should select GMT-6:00 United States-Chicago for Central time.)
6. To save these changes, press “Save and Close” on the bar at the bottom of the page.
