Purdue University Northwest - Pairing Your McGraw Hill Account with Brightspace (Student Guide)

Login to McGraw Hill Within Brightspace: 

  1.  Navigate to the content area within the Brightspace course you wish to pair with McGraw Hill Connect. 

 

  1.  Click on the blue Connect external learning tool link which is embedded in the course.

 

  1.  Click on the blue "Begin" button in the following screen.

 

  1.  Enter the email address you wish to be associated with your new McGraw Hill account. If you already have a McGraw Hill account, make sure that you enter the email associated with it in the email field.  

    a) NOTE: By default, your username@purdue.edu email address will populate in this field. Make sure to change it to your username@pnw.edu email address if you have previously used McGraw Hill outside of Brightspace using this email. 

    b) Click the "Begin" button if you are creating a new account. If you already have an account, click the "Sign in" link underneath the "Begin" button. You will be prompted for your password. If you do not remember it, you can reset it. 
     

  2.  Enter your access code in the "Use Connect Code" widget for a previously purchased textbook, purchase a new code or receive temporary access.

     

  3.  If you opt to have temporary access, you will be shown how long your access will last. You must purchase access before your temporary access is revoked. Click "Confirm" to continue. 

 

  1.  Your McGraw Hill Connect account is now paired with Brightspace.  

 

Troubleshooting:

Problem: “I bought a textbook but when I click on the McGraw Hill link in Brightspace, I’m prompted to buy the textbook again”.  

 

Possible Cause:  

This may happen if you have two McGraw Hill accounts and have purchased the textbook using one that is not linked to Brightspace.  

 

Solution: 

  1. Navigate to the McGraw Hill Connect link in your course.  
     

  2. Click on the link in the course.
     

  3. Click on “Unlink automatic sign-in” to unpair your account.
     

  4. Click the blue “Reset” button in the confirmation screen. 
     

  5. You may now follow the steps at the beginning of this guide to pair your account. Make sure to choose the email that is associated with the account you purchased the textbook with. If you are unsure which email address is associated with that account, contact McGraw Hill support:
