Launching and Subscribing to the Luna AVD
To access the Luna AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop), ensure your account is part of a group with an AVD built in Luna.
- Launching the Remote Desktop Application
- From the Windows start menu, open the remote desktop application or search for "remote desktop." Make sure to select the app with the red icon , as there are two remote desktop apps.
- If the application is not available in the start menu, you can install it from the software center. Search for "software center" from the start menu, and the remote desktop application should be visible if it is not already installed.
- Subscribing to a Virtual Machine
- If you have previously subscribed to a virtual machine, you will see a list of available virtual machines. Use the ellipsis icon next to a virtual machine to refresh and check for any new virtual machines available for you.
- If this is your first time using a virtual machine (VM), you will be prompted to subscribe using "subscribe" or "subscribe with URL." Use your Luna account credentials, password, and MFA to subscribe.
- In some cases, you may be in the group for accessing AVDs but encounter an error when subscribing. In this case, use "subscribe with URL" and enter the address: https://rdweb.wvd.azure.us/api/arm/feeddiscovery.
- Once subscribed, all VM workspaces assigned to your group will be listed in the remote desktop application.
- Accessing the Virtual Environment
- Select the desired Virtual Machine from the list and sign in using your Luna account to access the virtual environment.
Adjusting the Default View of the Remote Desktop
By default, the VM session starts in full screen mode, using all connected monitors. To modify this setting:
- Changing Display Configuration
- Right-click on the VM and adjust the settings.
- Toggle off "use default settings" and select your preferred display configuration.
