How do I find my MAC address on my gaming console?

Overview

Occasionally you may be asked to provide the MAC address of your gaming device to facilitate troubleshooting. These are some steps to obtain the MAC address for some example devices.

Instructions

Microsoft

XBOX One

  1. Visit the 'Settings' page. 
  2. Select 'Network'.
  3. Select 'Advanced Settings'.
  4. The MAC address will be listed on the right hand side of the screen.

XBOX 360
There are two versions of the dashboard for the XBOX 360, which will depend on when you last updated to the 'New Xbox Experience'.

New Dashboard

  1. Go to 'My Xbox'.
  2. Scroll all the way to the right to find 'System Settings'.
  3. Select 'Network Settings'.
  4. Select 'Configure Network'.
  5. Select the 'Advanced Settings' tab and select the 'Advanced Settings' option. 
  6. Select 'Alternate MAC Address'.
  7. The MAC Address should be listed toward the bottom of this screen.

Old Dashboard

  1. On the Dashboard, move your cursor all the way to the right to open the 'System Blade'.
  2. Select 'Network Settings'.
  3. Select 'Edit Settings'.
  4. Find 'Advanced Settings'.
  5. The MAC Address should be listed toward the bottom of this screen.

Sony (Playstation)

PS5

  1. Start up your PlayStation 5 without a disk in the drive.
  2. On the home screen, click on the settings icon (gear) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select "System".
  4. Under System Software, select Console Information.
  5. You will see the MAC addresses for LAN (Ethernet) and Wi-Fi.

PS4

  1. At the home screen, scroll over to 'Settings'.
  2. Select 'System'. 
  3. Select 'System Information'. 
  4. Your Wi-Fi MAC address is listed at the bottom.

PS3

  1. At the home screen, scroll over to 'Settings'. 
  2. Select 'System'. 
  3. Select 'System Information'. 
  4. Your Wi-Fi MAC address is listed at the bottom.

Vita

  1. At the home screen, select the 'Settings' app. 
  2. Scroll down and select 'System'. 
  3. Select 'System Information'. 
  4. Your MAC address is listed at the bottom.

Nintendo

Switch

  1. Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
  2. Scroll down through the menu and select Internet.
  3. The Nintendo Switch console MAC address will be listed under System MAC Address.

Wii U

  1. From the Menu, select 'System Settings'. 
  2. Select the 'Internet' icon. 
  3. Scroll down and select the 'View MAC Address' button. 
  4. Your MAC address will be listed here.

Wii

  1. From the 'Menu', select 'System Settings'. 
  2. Select the 'Internet'. 
  3. Select 'Console Settings'. 
  4. The MAC address is displayed on the first line.

3DS/2DS

  1. From the Home screen, open the 'System Settings' app. 
  2. Select 'Internet settings'. 
  3. Select 'Other Information'. 
  4. Select 'Confirm MAC Address'. 
  5. Your MAC address will be listed here.
