What type of issue are you experiencing?
A) "Error: "Forbidden" -> See solution below

D) "I get PHP permission errors on my website." -> See solution below
E) "I don't have a personal webspace, and would like one." -> See solution below
F) "I try to run a command on the webspace server and get an error." -> See solution below
G) "SecureCRT isn't working or allowing me to connect to the webspace server." -> See solution below

NOTE: Please remember, since the content of your webspace is of your own creation, the burden of troubleshooting content errors lies on the user. Purdue IT will NOT help you troubleshoot content issues.
A) Error: "Forbidden"
- Cause: You do not have a "www" folder located in your home directory.
- Solution: Search for the article, How do I get a personal webspace? , and follow the directions for getting a 'www' folder.
- Next: Search for the directions: How do I connect to the personal webspace server using a SSH Client? , and run the “webfix” command (without quotations)
B) Error: "Not Found"
- Cause: The username you entered does not match any functioning webspace on the server.
- Solution: Double check the spelling in the URL (web.ics.purdue.edu/~yourusername). Make sure you included the "~" before your username
- If you have not already done so, follow the directions found when searching "How do I get a personal webspace?" to request a personal webspace.
C) "I need to change the permissions on my webpage."
- First, you'll need to connect to the webspace server by following the directions found by searching "How do I connect to the personal webspace server using a SSH Client?"
- Once connected, you'll want to run the command "webfix" (without quotes), and press Enter. Any errors that occur, should appear on screen.
D) "I get PHP permission errors on my website."
- First, you'll need to connect to the webspace server by following the directions found by searching "How do I connect to the personal webspace server using a SSH Client?"
- Once connected, you'll want to run the command "webfix" (without quotes), and press Enter. Any errors that occur, should appear on screen.
E) "I don't have a personal webspace, and would like one."
- Please consult the knowledge base article for setting up your personal webspace, "How do I get a personal webspace?"
F) "I try to run a command on the webspace server and get an error."
- If this happens, please take a screenshot of your input & output and send it as an email attachment to it@purdue.edu. Please also detail what the original issue was, and what steps you took along the way. If you referenced a Knowledge Base Article, please include the number.
G) "SecureCRT isn't working or allowing me to connect to the webspace server."
- Please send an email detailing the issue and what steps you've taken, as well as any relevant screenshot, to it@purdue.edu
