How do I clear Cookies and Cached Site Data?

Issue/Symptom: 

  • Issues that are caused by the web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, etc.) can sometimes be solved by clearing cookies and cached site data. Examples: Pages loading content slowly | Received errors such as PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR, ERR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR, 400 Bad Request Error, 431 Request header fields too large, or 500 Internal Server Error, Header too larger error

Environment:  

  • Operating system:

    • Windows
    • Apple
    • Linux
    • Android
    • iOS
       
  • Browsers:
    • Brave
    • Firefox
    • Google Chrome
    • Microsoft Edge
    • Opera
    • Safari

Resolution:  

On Desktop/Laptop:

NOTE: When clearing cache and cookies, you will want to ensure that the time period is set to "All Time" or "Everything". Please also fully close all windows of the browser in question ("Quit" if you are using a Mac computer) once you have completed the cookie-clearing process.

Brave:

  1. Instructions to Clear Cookies and Site Data in Brave
  2. Ensure the following:
    • Using the "Basic" tab
    • The time range is set to "All time"
    • Both "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" are checked.

Firefox:

  1. Instructions to Clear Cookies and Site Data in Firefox
  2. Ensure the following:
    • Both options, "Cookies and Site Data" and "Cached Web Content", are checked.

  2. Ensure the following:
    • Using the "Basic" tab
    • The time range is set to "All time"
    • Both "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" are checked.

Microsoft Edge:

  2. Ensure the following:
    • The time range is set to "All time"
    • Both "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" are checked.

Opera:

  2. Ensure the following:
    • Using the "Basic" tab
    • The time range is set to "All time"
    • Both "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" are checked.

Safari:

  1. Instructions to Clear Cookies and Site Data in Safari
  2. Ensure the following:
    • "Prevent cross-site tracking" and "Block all cookies" are unchecked.
    • Use "Remove All" under "Manage Website Data"

On Phone/Tablet:

NOTE: When clearing cache and cookies, you will want to ensure that the time period (if an option) is set to "All Time" or "Everything".
