Ag - Connecting to Cisco VPN Prior to Sign-in on Ag Windows Machine

Overview

This KB will walk through the steps to connect to the VPN prior to signing in to the computer when working remotely. Doing this prior to sign-in will help alleviate issues with long sign-ins when remote and unresponsive Desktops or File Explorer windows once signed in.

Instructions

 

  1. At the log-on screen, in the bottom right corner, there will be an option called "Network Sign-in" at the far left of the options available(Icon looks like a lock with a key. You can hover over the icon to see the name to confirm). Click Network Sign-in

  2.  This will pop-up the Cisco Secure Client to connect to the VPN. It should default to the Boilerkey, Ag - (Default) or Boilerkey, Ag - All Traffic network. Click Connect on this Client.

    NOTE: If the field is blank - enter webvpn.purdue.edu/Ag-General and click Connect
     
  3. Sign in to the VPN using your career account username and password

  4. This will give you a Duo Mobile prompt on your phone to accept
     
  5. Once finished, the sign-on screen for the computer should come back up.

  6. Sign in to the computer like you normally would sign in.
