Purdue University Northwest - Send an Email through Brightspace (Student Guide)

The Email tool allows you to send email from within the Brightspace Learning Environment. You also have the ability to view any previously sent mail through Brightspace. In this guide, you will learn how: 

 

  • To email others using the Classlist tool 

  • To email others using the Email tool 

  • View any previous emails you have sent through Brightspace 

 

To email others using the Classlist tool: 

  1. While in your course, select Communication then Classlist in the Navbar. 

  1. You can do one of the following: 

  • You can select Email Classlist at the top right corner of the page to send an email to every student and instructor in the course. 

  • You can select the checkboxes next to any particular learner and or instructor you would like to email, then click Email. 

  1. Compose your message and add any attachments. 

  1. Click Send. 

To email others using the Email tool: 

  1. On the course homepage in the upper right-hand corner, click on the envelope then Email. 

  1. Manually add emails, compose your message and add any attachments. 

  1. Click Send. 

View any previous emails you have sent through Brightspace: 

  1. On the course home page, click Email. 

  1. In the upper right-hand corner, select the Sent Mail button. 

  1.  You will be shown a chronological listing of all messages that you’ve sent through D2L. Click on a subject line to view the message.
