Overview
The Access Control Tool (ACT) is a web‑based application designed to streamline the management of door access within the Transact and LenelS2 NetBox systems, as well as the administration of meal plans within Transact (formerly Blackboard Transact).
ACT enables the ID Card Operations team to delegate door access and meal plan management responsibilities to designated and authorized Purdue employees who have a verified business need.
Details
ACT is built with role-based permissions, allowing the ID Card Operations team to grant management rights to designated Purdue employees who serve as authorized door owners for their departments. Through ACT, users can search for individuals by name or ID number, review their current access levels, and make updates directly in the system. All changes are processed in real time and synced with Transact and LenelS2 NetBox systems to maintain consistency across connected systems.
The tool includes auditing and reporting features that log every action, including the user who made the change, the timestamp, and the details of the update. These logs can be exported for compliance reviews or reporting needs. ACT also supports batch updates, making it easier to manage access for groups without repetitive manual entries.
ACT is accessible through Purdue’s secure network via a web interface and requires standard Purdue credentials along with updated WebCerts for GLBA, Data Handling, and FERPA compliance.
Training and access is authorized and provided for users by the ID Card Operations team to ensure proper use and adherence to security standards.
