Overview

Once a semester has started, students cannot use the UniTime Scheduling Assistant to drop from their last course instead they must use the university withdrawal process.  Students often do not realize they must use the university withdrawal process.

It is possible that the student may not recognize their withdrawal action counts as dropping their last course.  For financial aid reasons, last course interpreted as last active course between the time the student is dropping the course and the end of the semester.  This means that if the student has completed one or more partial term courses and the student is withdrawing from the remaining uncompleted courses for the term, then they need to use the university withdrawal process. The messages the students will receive from the UniTime Scheduling Assistant that indicate the student should use the university withdrawal process are “Cannot drop last course” and “Dropping last active class is not allowed.”

Instructions

To resolve the issue students wanting to withdraw from all their courses need to do so by navigating to the “Student Schedule” card in their myPurdue portal and clicking on “Withdraw from the Current Term” to fill out the request form. They should NOT try to do so via UniTime Scheduling Assistant/Reg Workflow. They should submit their request as soon as possible as the day that they submit their online withdrawal request, unless otherwise determined by the Office of the Dean of Students, will be considered their effective withdrawal date.
