How to Tell if Your Computer Has Already Been Migrated to BoilerAD

If you're unsure whether your Windows computer has already been migrated to BoilerAD, there are a few quick ways to check. These steps can help you determine whether any action is needed before upcoming migration activities. 

Option 1: Check Software Center

1. Open the Start Menu.
2. Search for and open Software Center.
3. If your device has already been migrated, you will see the updated Purdue branding that includes all three Purdue campuses. 

Option 2: Check Your Work or School Connection

1. Open the Start Menu.
2. Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
3. Look for BoilerAD.Purdue.edu in the list of connected accounts.

If BoilerAD.Purdue.edu is listed, your device has been migrated. 

Option 3: Check Your Device Name

1. Open the Start Menu.
2. Go to Settings > System > About.
3. Under Device Specifications, locate Full device name.
4. If the name ends with BoilerAD.Purdue.edu, your device has been migrated. 

Want to Migrate Early?

If your device is eligible, you may be able to complete the migration before your unit's scheduled date through Software Center.

Before starting:

• You must be connected to the campus network.
• If connected to VPN, disconnect before beginning.
• Plan to start the process at the end of your workday.
• The migration can take approximately 30 minutes and your computer may reboot several times.
• Avoid signing back into the computer during the migration process to allow changes to complete successfully.
