A Listserv is an email distribution list that allows messages to be sent to all members (subscribers) of the list. Key points about Listservs include:
- Independence: Listservs are independent of any specific email program.
- Public or Private: They can be either public or private, depending on the intended audience.
- Communication Types: Listservs can be used for open discussion, moderated discussion, or one-way communication.
- Recipient Addresses: Listservs can contain addresses of anyone, not limited to Purdue Fort Wayne faculty, staff, and students.
- Maintenance: Listservs are maintained by one or more owners of the list.
