AppsAnywhere: Collecting Logs for Support

Overview

If you are experiencing issues with AppsAnywhere, such as:

  • Validation failures
  • Applications not launching
  • Launcher errors
  • Authentication issues
  • Unexpected application behavior

Purdue IT may request diagnostic logs to assist with troubleshooting.

Before collecting logs, reboot your device and reproduce the issue if possible.


Windows

Collect Support Data

  1. Launch the AppsAnywhere Client.
  2. Locate the AppsAnywhere icon in the Windows system tray.
  3. Click the Show Hidden Icons arrow if necessary.
  4. Right-click the AppsAnywhere icon.
  5. Select Collect Support Data.
  6. Choose a location to save the file.
  7. A ZIP archive containing the required logs will be generated automatically. [kb.wisc.edu],

Submit the Logs

Attach the generated ZIP file to your Purdue IT support ticket.

Include:

  • Purdue username
  • Application name
  • Date and time the issue occurred
  • Screenshot of any error message
  • Brief description of the issue

macOS

Collect Support Data

  1. Open the AppsAnywhere Client.
  2. Select the AppsAnywhere menu/status icon.
  3. Choose Collect Support Data.
  4. Select a location to save the ZIP archive.
  5. Attach the generated ZIP file to your Purdue IT ticket. 

Manual Log Collection (Only If Requested by Support)

If the Collect Support Data option is unavailable, Purdue IT may request individual log files.

Windows AppsAnywhere Logs

File Location:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Software2\AppsAnywhere\Log\

macOS AppsAnywhere Logs

File Location:

~/Library/Logs/Software2/

Application Virtualization Logs (Windows)

File Location:

C:\ProgramData\Endeavors Technologies\StreamingCore\Log\

These locations should only be used when specifically requested by support staff. [service.purdue.edu]


Additional Information to Include

When submitting logs, also provide:

  • Operating system and version
  • Browser used
  • Application being launched
  • Whether the issue occurs with one or multiple applications
  • Any screen shots of errors or validation failures

This information helps Purdue IT resolve issues more quickly.
