Overview

This document provides an overview of how to create a new BoilerAD group using Adaxes

Requirements

• User must have an OUAdmin elevated privileges account to create groups in BoilerAD.  If you need to request an OUAdmin, please visit https://www.purdue.edu/securepurdue/forms-and-resources/forms.php

Procedure

1. Sign into the Adaxes tool with you ouadmin account at https://adaxes.boilerad.purdue.edu/Adaxes/Admin#/Home
    
2. From the adaxes home page, click on create group from the left-hand menu.
    
3. The system will then ask you where you wish to create the group.  Select BoilerAD.Purdue.edu \ BoilerADGroups and then click on Next>
   
   
    
4. The name of the group must start with your eight digit department number and a dash.  For example, if you are in Ag Econ, the name of the group woudl start with 00000040-.  Note: If you do not start you group name with your department number, you will not be able to see or manage the group after you create it.  You will need to send a note to accounts@purdue.edu and ask them to remove the group you created and start this process over again.
    
5. The pre-Windows 2000 group name should match the group name.
    
6. The description field is where you would enter a description of how the group will be used.
    
7. In the Group Type - click on the radio buttons for Group and Security
    
8. If you wish to protect the group from accidental deletion, click on that checkbox.
    
9. Now Click on finish.  This will create the group in BoilerAD.
