How do I print on both sides of the paper (duplex) with Purdue IT Learning Spaces printers?

Overview

All Purdue IT Learning Spaces black and white printers default to duplex (double-sided) printing.  While the duplex printing does not reduce the cost per print charged to your quota, it does conserve paper.

Instructions

The Purdue IT Learning Spaces color printers default to single-sided printing.  To change these options, please see the steps below.

Windows

1. Print your document by selecting 'Print' from the 'File' menu. 
    
2. Under Settings, select ‘Print One Sided’ to change from the default duplex printing for black and white printers.  To print double-sided on a color printer, select ‘Print on Both Sides’ to change from the default single-sided option.  Select ‘Print on Both Sides’ with the ‘Flip pages on long edge’ for regular portrait orientation printing.  For landscape orientation printing, choose ‘Print on Both Sides’ with the ‘Flip pages on the short edge’ option.
    
3. Click 'Print' (or similar button) to print your document. The printer will use both sides of the paper when possible.
   
    

Mac OS

1. Print your document by selecting 'Print...' from the 'File' menu.
    
2. You will see a similar dialog to the one below:
   
    
3. From the third drop-down menu, select 'Layout'. You will then be able to set 'Long-edged binding' (for portrait layout) or 'Short-edged binding' (for landscape layout) to enable 'Duplex Printing'.
    
4. Click 'Print' to begin printing. The printer will use both sides of the paper when possible.

Troubleshooting
