Product Description
Camtasia for Windows and Mac for video creation and editing software lets you record your screen or import your own footage and then create a polished finished video using the drag-and-drop editor and built-in effects such as professional-quality titles; animated text, images or icons; music; transitions; and more.

Availability
This software is not available to students and graduate staff.
Camtasia Studio is offered on personally owned and University-owned Microsoft Windows computers at no cost to eligible users. The download includes the software installer and a text file containing the license key that will authorize use of Camtasia.
The license covers the current version of Camtasia Studio. Upgrades to the next full version of the product will require a new license key, which will be included in future releases of Camtasia on this page.
Agreement
Purdue's agreement with TechSmith provides a site license for Camtasia Studio, Camtasia for Mac, and SnagIt to those eligible on the West Lafayette, Purdue Northwest, and Fort Wayne campus. This software must be fully uninstalled from personally owned equipment when association with the University ends or status change results in ineligibility.
Distribution
Camtasia Studio is available through Purdue IT’s Software Distribution on Purdue's CommunityHub. Software Licensing and Distribution provides services associated with the establishment and retention of software agreements between Purdue University and software vendors, and the distribution of the resulting licensed software under the terms of these agreements.
Purdue University offers several popular software packages to individuals, departments, and colleges at the University. Availability restrictions, versions offered, distribution means, and cost of software result from the agreement details between Purdue University and the specific software vendor.
If your University computer is supported by CSDS. Please call 795-494-4000 or submit obtain Camtasia Software. CSDS has a limited number of licenses available.

The Purdue IT Service Desk Service Center offers limited support covering issues with installation. Please call 765-49-44000 or e-mail it@purdue.edu with a description of the problem, the steps during installation where the problem occurred, the exact text of any messages, and if possible, screenshots illustrating the installation issue.
