How do I get permission to a Network Drive?

Overview

To request access to a departmental network drive, you must contact the Purdue IT Service Desk at (765) 494-4000 or click the "Purdue IT Request" button to start a ticket.

Instructions

Provide the Service Desk the following information:

  • Your Alias.
  • The 'file share' name or 'file path'.

You have to be added to the appropriate groups for login drive mappings (if available) and permissions (read or read/write) to the data contained in the network share. These groups may grant access to the root level of a share, but not necessarily to all the data.
