Who do I contact if my career account password is scrambled?

Overview

Your password will become scrambled if our security team has reason to believe that your career account has been compromised.

Instructions

In order to minimize the impact, Purdue IT Security and Policy immediately scrambles your career account password in an effort to protect you and Purdue from an unauthorized individual accessing your information and systems that you are authorized to access. This, unfortunately, will cause you to be unable to log in to any system which uses your Purdue career account.

One symptom you might see if your account has been compromised is suspicious email, or an increase in the amount of spam email that you receive prior to noticing that your career account no longer allows you to log in to any system.  If you suspect that you may have a scrambled password, you can reset your password by following the instructions found here: How to change your career account password.

NOTE:  Once you have re-established access to your account, please check and verify bank account information in the OnePurdue portal, forwards and rules in your email, etc. to confirm no changes were made to your information.
