I'm a new admitted student and just accepted my offer, how to I how do I access my Purdue career account and email?

Issue/Symptom: 

  • I'm a newly admitted student and need to set up my Purdue career account and email

Environment:  

  • West Lafayette Campus

Career Account Setup:  

  1. Go to purdue.edu/accountsetup

  2. Sign up using your 10-digit Purdue ID number (found in the bottom lefthand corner of your Purdue offer of admission letter) and birthday. 

  3. Create a password. Click here for tips on creating a strong password

  4. Set up Purdue email password challenge questions. These questions will help you access email if your password needs changed.

  5. Sign up for emergency text notifications and a backup email address. 

  6. Your career account and email setup are complete.

 

To access your Microsoft 365email: 

  1. Go to https://outlook.office.com/

  2. Sign in with your Purdue career account user name and password

  3. You should be prompted to set up Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA); follow the steps proved or refernces these instructions from Microsoft:  Set up your Microsoft 365 sign-in for multi-factor authentication
     
  4. Your Purdue email is now set up and accessible.
