How do I configure my router for use in the Residence Halls?

Overview

This article requests that personal routers not be used within the residence halls on campus.

Instructions

Purdue provides network connectivity through Ethernet ports in each residence room as well as the wireless PAL3.0, URHome, and Purdue Guest networks.  There are also both the AT&T WiFi and eduroam networks available for use.  As such, personal routers should not be used within a residence hall room, unless special permission has been granted by ResNet.  If personal wireless routers continue to be used, the offender will be reported to University Residence staff.  Purdue IT also reserves the right to turn off the internet connection to the room until the router is removed.

Purdue only supports PAL3.0, URHome, and Purdue Guest wireless signals.
