Purdue Fort Wayne- Forgotten Password or Username

Overview

This article explains how to set up security questions for password management on the Purdue Fort Wayne Information Technology Services platform.

Instructions

If you've forgotten your password at Purdue Fort Wayne:

1. In a browser, go to goPFW and don't log in.
2. Click Forgotten Password
3. If you have not set up your security questions, click the first Forgot Password link. If you have, click the second link.
   • Directions for setting up your security questions can be found here.
4. To further protect your information, type the Captcha text in the blank
5. Click Verify
6. Enter your username and last name.
7. Click Search
8. You will then be asked to answer 3 of your security questions.
9. Click Check Answers
   • If you are having trouble answering the questions, you can click Cancel and try again to receive a different set of questions.
10. This will take you to the Change Password page where you will reset your password.
    • Type your desired password into both blanks.
    • Click Change Password
    • Click Continue
11. This will take you back to the login page.
    • Your password will be valid immediately.
    • Try logging in with your new password both on this page and on goPFW.

Tip: You will have to update your password on your mobile devices

If you've forgotten your username:

1. Follow steps 1-4 above, except click Forgotten Username instead of Forgotten Password
2. You will then be asked to provide your date of birth, last name, the last 4 digits of your social security number, and your Purdue Fort Wayne ID number.
   • The first two blanks are required, and in addition to these:
     • Students must provide either the last 3 of their social security number or their Purdue Fort Wayne ID number
     • Staff/Faculty must provide their Purdue Fort Wayne ID
3. Click Search
4. If your username is found, you will be redirected to another page with your username. Write this down for your records.
5. Click Continue
6. This will redirect you to the login page.
