This is a guide for users who have used www.BoilerBot.purdue.edu to reset their Microsoft MFA authenticator app. Using BoilerBot to reset MFA can also help you establish a new MFA connection after you have changed phones.

Instructions

These instructions work best from a computer while having access to your phone or other mobile device.

  1. Use www.BoilerBot.purdue.edu to reset your Microsoft MFA
  2. Go to https://outlook.office.com and sign in with your Purdue email address and password.  Click Next on the screen that says, “More information is required.”

  3.   Download the Microsoft Authenticator App to your phone (Google Play Store or Apple Store).

  1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator App on your phone (On the app, click the + symbol at the top of the page, select "Work or school account"  and then select "scan a QR code). Scan the QR code presented and select Next. 
  2. Scan the QR code
  3. On your computer screen, a number will be displayed. Enter the number on your phone in hte Authenticator App.

  4.  Your Microsoft accounts are now protected by Microsoft MFA.
