Setting a Share Expiration Date in SharePoint

Overview

This article explains how to set an expiration date for access to a shared SharePoint file. 

Instructions

To set an expiration date for access to a share in SharePoint, first go to the file of folder you desire to share and click on the share button to the right of the file or folder name.

Next, click on the settings gear next to “Copy link”.

You will now see the option to select an expiration date for the shared access. Select the desired date along with all other appropriate setting for the share.
