How do I set up Text Replacement on a mobile device?

This article provides step-by-step instructions for text replacement on a managed iPad.

Instructions

  1. To set up Text Replacement, open ‘Settings’.

  2. From the Settings menu, select ‘General’.

  3. Select ‘Keyboard’.

  4. Select ‘Text Replacement’.

  5. To add a new Text Replacement shortcut, select the ‘+’ in the upper right corner.

  6. In the ‘Phrase’ text field, enter the selected URL.  In the ‘Shortcut’ text field, enter the associated acronym.
    NOTE:  Server information is case sensitive.

  7. Select ‘Save’.
    Save text replacement
     

  8. Repeat for each line item (1-4) above.
    NOTE:  Before returning the device, you need to log out of the device and wireless network.
