Rave AppArmor Desktop is the desktop alerting component of the Purdue Emergency Notification system.
Details
When an emergency occurs and a warning is activated, AppArmor Desktop will pop up a full-screen alert on PCs and Macs that have the client installed. The client will appear in the system tray area of a user’s machine with a triangle icon and branded as PurdueALERT.
When an alert is sent, it will take over the whole screen with a warning. AppArmor Desktop is activated when campus safety teams trigger an alert at West Lafayette, Northwest, Fort Wayne, or Indy campuses. Clients poll the server at preset intervals and activate within seconds in the case of an emergency.
