Ag - How to add "\\wl.mydata.purdue.edu" to the Windows Trusted Sites list

When you open or preview a file that was copied or downloaded from \\wl.mydata.purdue.edu, Windows does not automatically trust the server and will not load a preview image, allow editing, or macros to run by default. However, you can manually add network paths to the trusted sites list, which will allow previews, edits, and macros to run without being blocked.

 

  1. Close any open files that are limited by security restrictions.

  2. Open "Control Panel" and click "Internet Options".

  3. Click the "Security" tab, then "Local intranet", then "Sites".

  4. Click "Advanced"

  5. In the "Add this website to the zone:" field, add the following sites:

    \\wl.mydata
    \\wl.mydata.purdue.edu
    \\nas01
    \\nas01.itap.purdue.edu​​​​​​​

  6. Then click "Close", then "OK", then "OK".
