How do I report phishing e-mails?

Overview

If you received an e-mail that you believe to be phishing, please use the "Report Message" button in your Outlook client. This will quickly alert the security team about a suspicious email. Users can expect an automatic reply from PSS when submitting a Phishing email, which opens a ticket in their system. The reported email should also automatically be moved to the Deleted Items or Trash folder to unclutter your inbox. Please follow up with the automated message from PSS if you wish to follow up on the email that was reported.

Alternatively, if you use a different email client other than Outlook or do not have the Outlook client available to you, please attach or send full e-mail headers of the e-mail you received to abuse@purdue.edu

Spoofed e-mail may appear to come from an @purdue.edu e-mail address, but is actually sent from another e-mail account.

Please contact Purdue IT at (765) 494-4000 if you have any questions.
