Instructions for requesting a MIFI device, smartphone, or a service (only) plan with sim card.
Instructions
- Click the 'Purdue IT Request' button to start a ticket. This will generate a ticket to start the process.
- Please include in your service request, the following information:
- Vendor Preference: (AT&T or Verizon)
- Device type and model: (MIFI, smartphone or only sim card)
- Do you want to rent or purchase a new device?
- Purdue account number to charge for device and ongoing service.
- Name of person the device is for.
- Service plan for the device or sim card.
- Will this device be used internationally?
- Sim card requests for customer-provided equipment. There is currently no charge to order a sim card, but this could be subject to change at any time.
- What device will the card be used in, what the device name is and model number.
- IMEI number of the device if already purchased. This is a requirement for sim card compatibility.
- What features are needed in the service plan? Voice minutes, data minutes, texting amount, international access.
- Once a service request has been submitted the processing time can take up to 2-3 weeks to complete depending on what is needed, availability, shipping, and pick-up.
- Purchasing a new device will take longer than receiving a rental.
- 1-3 business days for a cost summary to approve before the order is placed.
- 4-7 business days to receive everything from the vendor once the device and any accessories have been selected.
- A rental device can typically be picked up in 1-3 business days.
