You can use it for planning and analysis, asset and data management, operational awareness, and field workforce management. At Purdue, the software package can be downloaded on any campus desktop computer. It's also available on a Windows cluster.

ArcGIS (ArcMap) Desktop and ArcGIS Concurrent licensing have been sunset by ESRI and no longer offered, effective July 1, 2025
Users now must access ArcGIS Pro with a Named-User license. The software can be downloaded from the Community Hub. Once the software is installed and launched
- Be sure to select the 'Enterprise Account' button near the bottom of the ArcGIS Pro Log In page to enter your Purdue Career account.
- On the next page, enter 'purdueuniversity' in the space provided so that the complete URL is: purdueuniversity.maps.arcgis.com, and then select continue.
- Then select the 'Using Your Purdue University Account' button.
- Sign in using your Purdue Career account; use the 'USING YOUR PURDUE UNIVERSITY ACCOUNT' button on the login page.
- Your login will also create your ArcGIS Online and your account name will be based on your Purdue career account name; it will be something like ... xxxx@purdue.edu_purdueuniversity.
If you have ArcGIS Pro installed using a Concurrent License, you will need to reconfigure the license to "Named-User".
- Go to settings on the left-hand side, then select Licensing.
- Click on configure license,
- Select Named user from the license type drop-down menu.
- Hit okay/ Save.
- The license should be updated.
Using ArcGIS Pro on a university-owned computer will require an Administrator password from Purdue IT to reconfigure the license to "Named-User"
- Right-click on ArcGIS Pro to launch as an Administrator
- Go to settings on the left-hand side, then select Licensing.
- Click on configure license,
- Select Named user from the license type drop-down menu.
- Hit okay/ Save.
- The license should be updated.
