PAL Gadgets

What is PAL-Gadgets?

PAL-Gadgets is a wireless network set up on the Purdue West Lafayette campus to allow devices that are unable to authenticate via 802.1x standards to connect to wireless around campus.  These non-traditional Smart devices can includes devices such as Televisions, VR headsets, Science equipment, Amazon Echo, etc...

**Wireless Cameras are not allowed on campus without PUPD approval and are therefore not permitted to be added to PAL-Gadgets**

Who can use the network?

Only faculty and staff are permitted to submit devices for access to the PAL-Gadgets wifi network.

Where is it available?

Due to limitations on network congestion (more networks, more signals), PAL-Gadgets is only available in specific areas of specific buildings that are known to have devices that require it.

How do I request access for my device?

Please fill out this qualtrics form which will generate a TDX (Team Dynamix) ticket for the networking team to work on.

The form will require the MAC address of the device, your building and room number, as well as the type of device.

*Note, if you are trying to add many devices for a classroom experience, you may be better served by creating non-user accounts for your devices that can access traditional wifi.
