Ag - How do I configure an iPhone or other iOS device for the AgIT VPN?

 Instructions to configure an iPhone or other iOS device for the College of Agriculture's AgIT VPN.

NOTE:  VPN connections are only supported using the Cisco AnyConnect app and logged in using 2-factor authentication.

To configure your iPhone (or other iOS device) to connect to AgIT's VPN, please follow the steps below.

  1. Open the 'App Store'.
     
  2. Search for 'Cisco AnyConnect'.
     
  3. Install and open the 'AnyConnect' app.
     
  4. Allow Any Connect to ad VPN configurations.
     
  5. Tap 'Connections'.
     
  6. Tap 'Add VPN Connection.
     
  7. Tap in the 'Server Address' field and type 'webvpn.purdue.edu' in the field.
    NOTE: Capitalization matters with the server address.
     
  8. Tap 'Done'.
     
  9. Tap 'Allow'.
     
  10. If requested, input your iOS device pin code or use Touch ID by holding your finger on the home button.
     
  11. Select the AnyConnect VPN switch.
     
  12. Enter your username and password.
     
  13. Authorize the 'Login request'.
     
  14. Press the 'Home' button to return to home screen.
     
  15. Tap the 'AnyConnect' app.
     
  16. Tap 'Connections'.
     
  17. Tap the 'i' to the right of 'webvpn.purdue.edu/Ag-General'.
     
  18. Tap 'Delete VPN Connection'.
     
  19. Now when opening AnyConnection, select 'Ag- (Default) Purdue Only Traffic' and tap the AnyConnect VPN switch. 
     
  20. Once connected, a small "VPN" icon will appear next to the battery icon.
