Overview

Detailed explanation on how to check a computer's operating system version,  either on Windows or Mac.  

Instructions

The instructions for checking the operating system version on both Windows and Mac:

1. Windows Version:
   1. Press the Windows logo  key + R.
   2. Type “winver” in the Open dialog box and press OK.
   3. The About Windows dialog box will display your Windows version (either Windows 10 or Windows 11) along with the specific version number (e.g., Version ####, OS Build #####.#### ).
2. Mac Version:
   1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner.
   2. Select “About this Mac” from the menu.
   3. The specific Mac OS version (e.g., macOS Big Sur 11.6) will be shown at the top of the dialog box.
