How do I get a static IP Address for my device?

What devices would need a Static IP Address?

Many devices may need an IP address that does not change with restarts or down time; this is called a static (or Reserved) IP.  This is very common for devices such as Servers, Printers, Security Cameras, and other multi-use office equipment.

Who can request a static IP address?

These requests are limited to faculty and staff on campus and will typically be requested through the local/departmental IT team.

Local IT will need to know the type of device it is and the MAC address in order to assign an IP Address to it.

Students are not eligible for static IP's for personal devices.
