How Purdue Mobile ID Works
Purdue Mobile ID uses Near Field Communication, also known as NFC, to allow supported phones and smartwatches to communicate with campus card readers. In most cases, users do not need to open the eAccounts app each time they use their Mobile ID. They can tap their mobile device at supported readers to access eligible campus services.

Getting Started
Step 1: Submit Your Photo:
- Download the Transact eAccounts app on your eligible mobile device.
- Open the app and search for Purdue University.
- Sign in using your Purdue career account and two-factor authentication.
- Submit your Purdue ID photo and any required identification.
- Check your Purdue email for confirmation that your photo has been approved.
Step 2: Add Your Purdue Mobile ID:
- Return to the Transact eAccounts app and sign in using your Purdue career account and two-factor authentication
- Select the option to add your Purdue Mobile ID to your device's wallet.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup process.
Once your Purdue Mobile ID has been successfully added to your device's wallet, it is ready to use at supported campus locations.

Purdue Mobile ID is the name Purdue uses for the mobile version of the Purdue ID card. Transact Mobile Credentials is the technology platform that makes Purdue Mobile ID work. Through the Transact eAccounts app, eligible users can add their Purdue Mobile ID to Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet and use their mobile device where Purdue Mobile ID is accepted.
Do I need to open an app every time I use my Mobile ID?
It is wallet-dependent. Apple and Samsung wallets are tap-and-go. Google Wallet, the screen must be on to tap and go.

What if I get a new phone?
Before adding your Purdue Mobile ID to a new phone, it must be removed from the previous device. Apple users can remove the credential through Apple Wallet or the associated iCloud account. Android users should contact Purdue ID Card Operations for assistance.
Can I upload a new photo for my Purdue Mobile ID?
No. Customers cannot submit a new photo online after their Purdue Mobile ID has been issued. If you need a new ID photo, visit the Office of the Bursar, Stewart Center (STEW) Room 194 during normal business hours. A staff member can assist you with taking and updating your photo.
Can I get my preferred name on my Purdue Mobile ID?
No. Purdue Mobile ID displays information from University systems and does not support displaying a preferred name. Students who require a credential displaying their preferred name will need to obtain a physical Purdue ID card. Visit the Office of the Bursar, Stewart Center (STEW) Room 194 during normal business hours for assistance.

Can I use my Purdue Mobile ID if my iPhone battery is dead?
If you have any of the iPhone XS, XS Max or XR models, yes. Express Mode with power reserve is available for up to five hours when your phone needs to be charged. (For more details, see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208965.) Other iPhone models (iPhone 8 and earlier) do not offer this feature.
Can I use Mobile ID if my Samsung device's battery is dead?
For eligible Samsung Galaxy phones and watches, yes. Users can make up to 15 transactions within 24 hours after their phone or watch powers off due to low battery.
I submitted my photo. Why can't I add my Mobile ID yet?
After you have uploaded your photo of yourself and your government-issued photo identification, it will take approximately 2 to 3 business days for the ID Card Operations / Support to process your submission.
Once your submission has been reviewed, you will receive an email notifying you that the review process is complete and the next steps to getting your Purdue ID based on your role within the university.
If your photo was not approved, you will receive an email stating Your Photo was Not Approved- Action Required including the reason the photo could not be accepted. You can then submit a new photo that meets all requirements at the same online address. The new photo will upload over the current photo posted, and our office will receive an automatic notification that a new photo has been submitted.
I downloaded Transact eAccounts. Now what?
The Transact eAccounts app is used to set up and manage your Purdue Mobile ID; the app itself is not your mobile credential. Sign in with your Purdue credentials and follow the prompts to add your Purdue Mobile ID to your supported device. Once added, simply tap your device at supported campus locations—there is no need to open the eAccounts app each time.
