Instructions for how to subscribe or unsubscribe to a Listserv mailing list
Instructions
To subscribe to a listserv mailing list:
Note: Not all Listserv are open for subscription--some require owner approval. When in doubt, contact the owner of the Listserv.
- Address an e-mail message to listserv@lists.purdue.edu.
- Leave the subject blank.
- In the body of the message enter: subscribe name_of_list Your_First_Name Your_Last_Name.
- Send the message.
- You should receive a confirmation message that you were successfully subscribed.
To unsubscribe to a Listserv mailing list:
There are 2 ways to unsubscribe from a Listserv mailing list:
- By sending an email
- Address a message to listserv@lists.purdue.edu
- Leave the subject blank
- In the body of the message, type SIGNOFF nameoflist
- Send the message. You should receive a confirmation email that you have been removed from the list.
- By going to the Listserv portal
- Go to https://lists.purdue.edu/scripts/wa.exe and log in using your email address as the username and your Purdue career account password.
- On the left side, expand the Subscriber Options section if it is not expanded
- Select Subscriptions
- Check the box by the list/s you want to unsubscribe from
- Click on the drop-down below the list names and select Unsubscribe
- Click on the Update button on the lower right of the page
